Exhibition: discovering John Bridges

The year just starting will include important milestones for the Associació Joan Ponç and Edicions Poncianes: books and exhibitions that will soon see the light of the day after a long process of planning and preparation behind the scenes. We’ll be sharing them with you in the coming months…

The culmination of these processes are to us a source of fresh impetus and energy, which let us reveal another first: the opening of the exhibition that, from January 28 to April 23, will display for the first time the never-before-seen works of John Bridges, Joan Ponç’s unknown son.

The opening event, on January 28, was a singular celebration at the Fundació Carulla’s Museu de la Vida Rural, in l’Espluga de Francolí, a unique environment in close connection with Bridges’ work, which draws from natural inspiration in many of its materials and symbols. There, Vicenç Altaió, Laia Noguera and Jordi Carulla-Ruiz offered a recital with accompanying atmospheric music by Mike Landscape, especially composed for the occasion drawing from the piece “Six sperm stéril”, conceived as a homage to Marcel Duchamp —whose works are a benchmark to Bridges— that also collides with many other territories.
