Mercè Rodoreda

Mercè Rodoreda i Gurguí (Barcelona, 1908 - Romanyà de la Selva, 1983) is one of the most acclaimed figures in Catalan literature, as well as one of the most influential writers of our 20th century. Her works, among which stands out the novel La plaça del Diamant (1962, «the most acclaimed Catalan novel of all time», AELC), have been translated into more than thirty languages and are never out of print in Catalunya.
